CAD Signs was founded by Alex Galeano, a determined Colombian immigrant with a powerful vision for his company and a humble start. At just 21 years old, Alex took the plunge into entrepreneurship. He acquired an aging boom truck, along with basic tools, and secured a modest 1,500-square-foot shop in Union City, NJ.

As CAD Signs gained a significant amount of business from national sign companies, our scope of service and installation work expanded. This growth prompted our relocation to a larger, 2,500-square-foot shop in North Bergen, NJ.

In a significant milestone, CAD Signs secured its first multi-store project to rebrand 47 AT&T stores in New York City. This achievement marked a turning point for our company. We welcomed Ivan Navarro as an apprentice installer during this period, alongside several other exceptional installers, many of whom continue to be valued members of the CAD Signs team today.

Despite the challenges posed by the 2008 economic crash, CAD Signs not only weathered the storm but also capitalized on the real estate opportunities that emerged. During this period, we acquired our first 7,500-square-foot building in Hackensack, NJ. The company’s growth is evident as we expanded to a team of 20 full-time employees and a fleet of 10 trucks, a testament to our resilience and commitment to excellence.

CAD Signs relocated to its new headquarters in Hackensack, NJ. During this pivotal year, Alex made a significant decision by hiring a NYC-licensed sign hanger. This strategic move established CAD Signs as one of the few non-union licensed sign shops operating in the city. With this achievement, the company began to expand its presence in New York City, drawing the attention of national sign companies seeking an affordable and dependable alternative to union sign shops.

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, CAD Signs experienced rapid growth that necessitated additional space. Seizing an opportunity, the company purchased the adjacent warehouse when it became available. This expansion added an impressive 7,500 square feet, serving as both a fabrication and logistics warehouse. Furthermore, it included the acquisition of two additional parking lots to accommodate the growing needs of the company.

In a significant achievement, Alex Galeano attained the prestigious title of NYC-licensed special sign hanger #233. During this time, CAD Signs had grown significantly, boasting a workforce of over 40 employees. The company had become a trusted partner for numerous national companies, successfully completing substantial projects for well-known clients, including Children’s Place, Whole Foods, the Palisades Center shopping mall, and many more.

By 2019, CAD Signs boasted an impressive fleet of trucks and state-of-the-art equipment, complemented by a highly skilled team of professionals. Despite our growth, we remain firmly rooted in our origins. Our unwavering dedication revolves around continual service enhancement and discovering innovative ways to support our valued customers.

Given the iconic cityscape, we naturally evolved into specialists in working at heights and accessing hard-to-reach areas. We now excel at Industrial Rope Access and Rigging. Performing high-rise sign installations, exterior light fixture installations, cell phone antenna installations, FISP facade inspections, building maintenance, and more.

2023 marks a year of transformation as our business evolves to tackle new challenges. With a fresh rebranding that reflects our core essence and new vision, we’re branching out into diversified services and a broader clientele, signaling a pivotal phase in our growth journey.
